L’art est dans la rue, le street art a envahi les galeries et les foires d’art.

 

 

Une chose a échappé à la marchandisation mais non à la société du spectacle, c’est le fait de porter sa galerie personnelle sur la peau. Le tatouage n’est pas anodin, il change selon la peau, le visage, le corps et les pays. Du temps de Jean Genet c’était l’apanage du lumpen, des taulards, des légionnaires  et d’autres marginaux… aujourd’hui il devient bijou, habit et correspond de plus en plus à la personnalité du porteur. Avant cette mode, le tatouage était aussi une façon d’écrire sa biographie en signe, pour les analphabètes.

C’était un signe de reconnaissance d’un vécu de prison, bagne ou d’appartenance à un gang. Chaque individu ne se différencie plus par les habits mais par les symboles, dessins, signes qui ornent sa peau. C’est un jeu de rôles et de reconnaissance individuel. Dans cette nouvelle collection d’images j’intègre les personnes photographiés dans le dessin du tatouage pour l’isoler de son contexte et donner plus de valeur à la peau, aux symboles…car les tatoués deviennent les propres acteurs d’une pièce de theatre que chacun « peaufine  » de jour en jour en public.

One thing has escaped commercialization but not the society of the spectacle, it is the fact of carrying his personal gallery on the skin. The tattoo is not insignificant, it changes according to the skin, the face, the body and the countries. In the time of Jean Genet it was the prerogative of lumpen, criminals, legionaries and other marginalized … today it becomes jewel, dress and corresponds more and more to the personality of the wearer. Before this fashion, tattooing was also a way of writing his biography as a sign, for the illiterate.

It was a sign of recognition of life in prison, prison or gang membership. Each individual is no longer differentiated by the clothes but by the symbols, drawings, signs that adorn his skin. It’s a role play and individual recognition. In this new collection of images I integrate the people photographed in the drawing of the tattoo to isolate it from its context and give more value to the skin, to the symbols … because the tattooed ones become the own actors of a play of theater that everyone « polishes » from day to day in public.
